suncoast kids

We are so thankful for each child that walks through the doors of Suncoast Community Church. Every child is a precious gift from God and we are blessed to be given the opportunity to love and teach them. Our children's ministry aims to teach children Biblical truths in a fun and entertaining way, through crafts, storytelling, worship music and games. Our goal is for each child to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

At such an impressionable age, it's important for children to have Godly adults in their lives as examples of God's love and compassion. Our staff and volunteers are delighted to spend time with your children, giving you a much deserved opportunity to enjoy our worship service without distraction.

Family Life-Guarding (Intentional Faith at Home) - We only have your children one hour each week, so it's important for you to set a good example and lead your child to a relationship with Jesus Christ. That's why we've adopted the "Intentional Faith At Home" program to provide you with encouragement and materials to help you do just that. Look for the family life-guarding stand in the grand hall for creative ideas for your family to grow your faith together!

Secured Check In Process - Your children's safety is extremely important to us. That's why we require you to register your child in our electronic check-in system before they may attend class. A name tag with matching pick up tag is generated for your child with their class assignment. At the end of the service you will be required to use the pick-up tag and show it to your child's teacher upon dismissal. Once registered in the system, check in each week is quick and easy. Nursery (Birth Through 2 years) - These little ones receive loving care, Bible lessons, music and of course, play time. We utilize a pager system to let you know if your child needs you. We use cleaning products that are nature based and safe for your baby. Our one and two year olds are taught a simple Bible truth such as "God Made Everything." Weekly parent handouts are provided to parents to help reinforce the Bible lesson at home.

Preschool (3-5 Years) - This active group meets for a Bible lesson that includes a memory verse, craft, lively music and games. A family activity sheet is provided for you and your child to review and share in the lesson all week long. We believe parents are the most important "teacher" in their child's Christian development.

Elementary (K-5th Grade) - Kids enjoy lively music, memory verse activities, and relevant to their age level Bible teachings during large group time. Relationships are built during the small group times when there are discussions about life application of the lesson and prayer. We also focus on basic Bible skills.

Our 252 Basics curriculum emphasizes 3 main ideas:

  1. I need to make wise choices.
  2. I can trust God no matter what.
  3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

A new virtue (defined as something God is doing in you to change the world around you) such as peace, respect, or honor is introduced each month. GodTime cards and parent cues are provided to keep you informed of what your child is learning and to help reinforce the lesson all week long. We believe what happens at home is just as important as what happens at church and we want to partner with you, the family, to help grow your child's faith.
